Join us at the former Cafe Chien 4749 North Spaulding, Chicago, IL on December 17, 2-5 pm,
for coffee, tea and holiday goodies to celebrate the 2017 publication of a text-only version of
The View from a House in Kansas by Teresa Pankratz.
At 2:30, Teresa will be performing a live narration of this coming of age tale (from a copy of
her five-part, ten-piece, hand-made artists’ book of the same name) that incorporates musical interludes on toy piano, old-time radio sound effects and performed “acts”. The reading is
one hour and 15 minutes long.
Copies of the signed and numbered 2017 volume (complete with paper doll) are $20 each and will
be available for purchase before and after the performance. (And, if you still haven’t found that
perfect gift, an amazing selection of handmade artists’ books, zines, prints, holiday cards, etc.
are on offer as part of North Branch Projects’ December "Coffee Run" Pop-Up events…)
RSVPs are recommended, as space at Cafe Chien is somewhat limited. If you haven’t already,
please email Teresa at firstname.lastname@example.org or Regin Igloria of North Branch Projects
at email@example.com and let us know you’re coming.
It’d be lovely to celebrate with you!
